My Books

Both books in my gay romantasy series, The Romance Of Adrian & Michael: A Song Of The Fay, are now available on Amazon.

About me, A.P. Joynson

What can I tell you about me? Well all sorts but we'll stick to the salient points. I'm a fantasy nerd, with an English literature degree, and I started writing stories to fight the existential dread that comes whenever I don't feel productive. But actually that's not true, because the stories I write, I've been imagining since I was a little boy with an overactive imagination who was afraid of the dark and not very good at falling asleep. My first novel, The Son Of The Lake, was the product of being one of the only out gay kids in a catholic high school. I was writing the magical gay love stories I wanted to be able to read. More than a decade on, I've resurrected them now with (slightly) improved spelling and I want to give them to you, please, read them, I'm literally begging.

Reader's Voices

I really loved reading the book and was so invested in the characters. The world building was really interesting and unique and I can’t wait to read more!

Natasha Scothmer
founder of my local book club, she’s a great reader, but it would be awkward next meeting if she left a bad review wouldn’t it? Semi reliable review.

Whilst some of Albert’s love poems can be a bit hard to stomach, I was actually hounding him for new pages while he was writing Son Of The Lake, he couldn’t write it fast enough.

Jake Briggs

My fiancé, so almost as biased as my mother, and he got engaged to me! So his judgement is questionable at best

Albert Joynson is a bright, new writer on a quest. He’s created a fantasy world that’ll have fantasy fans everywhere smiling fantastically. If that weren’t enough there’s romance and tenderness throughout. For lovers of love and fantasy this is a huge treat.

Judith Franklin
A lover of the classics, and member of my book club, only slightly biased, reasonably reliable review.

Captivating and imaginative with just the right amount of tension and drama. This is a story about young love and affection in a fantasy world with a load of twists and turns and surprises along the way. I really enjoyed it.

Jane Joynson

Do not trust this woman! She is my mother, she will say anything to get you to buy my book!

I loved Albert’s writing, even if you don’t like the genre I’m convinced you’d like his style. I experienced the full spectrum of human emotion, I laughed, I cried, I checked all my doors were locked because I got a bit freaked. You really feel immersed into the world of his characters and want the best for them.

Catherine Hibbert

An avid reader, but also a close friend, so quiet biased, take with a pinch of salt.

“This joyful, cosy romantasy is bound to charm fans of fay and magic everywhere. Albert has created a tender and beautiful love story, perfectly weaving gorgeous heroes and magical villains, some of whom you might just recognise!”

Emma Dykes

I literally pay this person to be critical, 10/10 would read her revies again!

My new favourite book, absolutely cannot wait for Mothers Witches & Queens, I know it'll be just as amazing!
